Our range of stunning flat roof skylights are perfect for letting natural light flood into to any room. All our rooflight products are manufactured to a high performance, argon filled, energy saving glass units for our roof lanterns and skylights.
At Open Living we manufacture all our rooflights using the Reflex Glass product. This is a specialist UV and IR blocking glass with super insulating properties to reduce heat loss from your house, every unit is branded in the corner with the Reflex glass logo to insure 100% genuine product.
Toughened safety glass as standard to BS EN12150 we can also offer the inner pane of glass laminated for greater security or for use above swimming pools and child friendly areas.
The glass is coated with a durable easy clean coating to protect it from discolouration and promote self cleaning ability during rain fall, thus helping to reduce the manual cleaning process. Manual cleaning will still be required, especially if trees or traffic is close by but you can be assured that the glass will clean more easily than normal glass.
Our Fixed flat and opening rooflights feature triple glazing as standard, this is an optional extra for our Pyramid and Slimline rooflights. Giving you the very best heat insulating properties achievable for glass units, the U-value is 0.6 W/m2k for the flat triple glazed units and 0.7 W/m2k for the Slimline and Pyramid glazed units. Triple glazed units are 100% argon filled and feature Super Spacer continual warm edge spacer bar for improved sound insulation against heavy rain, traffic and noise.
All our products are delivered via our own fleet of company vans by our own specialist drivers who have many years of experience handling our glass products. For roofs ordered ready assembled and factory glazed, special consideration needs to be given to the weights supplied for each product when ordering.
We usually require enough people on site to be able to accept and unload the rooflight, our transport people will confirm is before scheduling a delivery. For our one piece factory bonded and glazed Slimline & Pyramid rooflights, it is important to check the access in order to allow a clear path for the rooflights to be lifted up onto the flat roof.
We offer a service to fully install our Slimline roof lanterns and Pyramid rooflights onto your ready made timber kerb.
With this option we come to site with the rooflight and roof lantern in flat pack for easy access so that our team can fully assemble and glaze the product on your roof, avoiding lifting costs and additional people on site.
By manufacturing our own unique high performance glass units in house we are able to control quality and lead times far greater than many other firms who simply buy their industry standard glass units from an outside source.
Our suite of in house designed thermally broken aluminium extrusions have been successfully sold for many years, with constant product development to keep us ahead of our competitors in terms of design, looks and performance.
