As bifolding door specialists, Open Living provide a wide range of colours for bifolding doors.
Grey Origin bifolding doors are the most popular
Every customer requirement is different. There are many customers that like the look of the classic white door. This easily blends in with their white PVCu or aluminium windows. However, the Origin brand of folding doors, provides the widest choice of colour and even woodgrain finishes.
Other customers have opted for bolder colours. We have provided a lot of black doors for those that wish to make an even bolder statement in their homes.
There is also our stunning wood effect range of bifolding doors. Many of our satisfied customers have chosen these doors because they want the look and feel of real wood with none of the anticipated maintenance.
But by far one of our most popular colours is Grey. Whether this is chosen as RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, or the darker RAL 7032 Slate Grey, this contemporary colour is still our most chosen. But did you know there are over 20 possible shades of grey from the RAL colour range? We offer all of these colours and more.
At first thought, grey is not the happiest of colours. However one of the great things about grey for doors and windows is that it sets a backdrop for all types of other colours internally.
The other good thing about grey as a colour for bifolding doors is that it makes doors stand out a little more in the home. So they look instantly appealing to the outside and look just as good on the inside.
Grey Origin Bifolding doors.
In a recent installation for a customer in Gramlingay, Bedfordshire we provided a set of three panel bifolding doors.
The property these were fitted to is a lovely home set in a great area. The property features some of the original timber windows with horizontal bars.
At the back of the property is a single storey extension with a gable roof. This new extension has provided the home with a stunning kitchen area. What better to set off the modern kitchen with granite worktops, an island unit, wood flooring, grey kitchen units and even a green accent wall, than a set of grey bifolding doors?
Origin doors with the popular access leaf.
We provided a 3 panel set of industry-leading Origin bifolding doors with large folding panels and an access leaf.
The advantage of the larger glazed panels is that they’ve provided bigger panes of glass and much more light. This worked better in this particular property than a four panel set of doors with smaller panes.
There’s also an access leaf. This is very important in a bifolding door because it enables easy access in and out of the garden without having to fold the doors back every time. You can see the access leaf (the one with the door handle) is hinged on the folding side of the doors.
This means that it can be used as a normal hinge door when required but when the doors are required to fully open it folds back with them.
The doors also sit on a matching grey powder-coated cill and feature a weather-rated threshold, recessed on the inside to meet the inner floor levels.
