An installation of the latest Solidor Composite Door in Baldock, Hertfordshire. Our work involved taking out the old PVCu front door, replacing it with an altogether superior product.
New Solidor Composite door in Baldock to a family home.
The original PVCu front door while in good condition has several design constraints typical of old front doors. One of the most significant is the low panels below the midrail. The glazing method of old PVCu doors, even if internal does not create a very secure product. It is possible to simply kick the door panels in on some very old front doors, overriding the locking system and allowing entry.
Another feature of PVCu is being a weaker material. Aluminium front doors provide substantially more strength, however, composite doors provide even more security and rigidity.
The new Solidor Composite door in Baldock comes from the Edinburgh Range. This door has long glass units and emulates classic Victorian doors but in a different four panel style. It features two glass panels offering light with privacy too. Furthermore, the solid panels and midrail at the bottom allow the fitting of a midrail. The central feature mullion offers a space for an attractive door knocker too.
This door comes in the popular Chartwell Green colour. Also added to the door is sandblasted glass units, adding a contemporary feature to this traditional styled door.
For security, every Solidor composite door offers a solid timber core. Not only is this incredibly strong, the core also adds impressive energy efficiency. The door is set off with chrome letterbox, door handle and door knocker.
Finally, the door comes with a multi-point lock with a lever pad arrangement, a standard threshold and a quality PVCu frame.
